Borderless lower rhine

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The region around the Lower Rhine is unique due to its special location – scenically and culturally. It lies deep in the west of NRW, on the border with the Netherlands. In the past it was the scene of war and smuggling, border stones and barbed wires – today right in the heart of Europe.
The Rhine not only gives the region its name, but also determines the flow of life here. Nowhere else does it flow as broadly and quietly as here.
Wilm Huygen’s film traces this special character of the region by visiting places and people that are both typical and surprising for the Lower Rhine – natives and immigrants, people and animals, preservers of tradition and visionary innovators of old ideas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
