It connects the Ruhr area with the North Sea – leading through industry and nature, through ports and cities, over 40 locks, past anglers, cyclists and restaurants. Gigantic cargo ships slowly make their way, only twelve kilometres per hour are allowed.

Peter Wejdling’s film is a special journey along the channel from the Ruhr area to the North Sea. He has met people who live and work on and along the channel – like the employees of the Coppenrath publishing house in Münster, who send their famous storybook rabbit “Felix” on his journeys from a former grain warehouse in the harbour.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
